.I see the morning monkey-hammer didn't work today.
It was sharply down when the cubicle-dwellers at JPMC got settled; but it shot right back up - and higher than it was overnight.
I have to wonder - are they failing, or is their manipulation taking a new turn? One theory I hear, is that central banks, now armed with some gold (or at least paper derivatives) want to see it driven UP, as a way to avoid numeric insolvency. Quadruple the price of their meager stock of bullion, and their assets meet their liabilities on the books.
That's what Mr. Gold said many moons ago.

Yeah basically when the banks have their position loaded in the metals they will let the market run for real.. -

the banks have such a position in Silver they can't possibly cover it. However, they have a ton of gold and might just be able to revalue that enough and take enough from shorts there that a few survive. All the other derivatives though will be

ASX Goldies open flat red today but have been on a slow burn upward, headed towards 3% just after lunch. Friday EOD will be interesting, typically we'd sell off into the close, however if we are bombing Iran this weekend things might not sell off so much! . -

Gold vs Bitcoin when Israel airstriked Iran (21:00). Bitcoin is not a safe haven during a crisis.

I don't know whether it will hold true that BTC will shit the bed in a crisis but if the past couple of occurrences mean anything that would be a problem for those how you say maximalists. . -

Gold Weekly - It's just looking like a solid uptrend with pretty decent volume.

NASDAQ Daily - Well that was a crap day! Look for a bounce around here, this next bounce will give us an idea of how weak this is or isn't!

NASDAQ Weekly - A failure here will most like put us back to trend, which is, at least in my book, the last line in the sand for this bull trend. ~16000 could easily be tested in the coming weeks. Maybe a tradeable bounce here, maybe not, we did close low on that last bar!

SPX Daily and Weekly - The same lines on both. These are the levels I'd expect bounces from. OBV has started down in a meaningful way, this is starting to look like Oliver's grinding bear market might be getting some traction.
